The new Coca-Cola Distribution Centre in Salisbury, South Australia is the primary warehouse and distribution centre for Coca-Cola products in the state.
Through a substantial refurbishment of the existing site – which previously housed Bridgestone’s manufacturing operations – Commercial & General developed a state-of-the-art facility tailored around Coca-Cola’s requirements for logistics, storage and administration.
The development includes more than 45,000 sqm of existing space covering 10 hectares, with a further 15 hectares of green-field development land to accommodate for future expansion, allowing for room to move, grow and adapt. Commercial & General have to this date, completed an impressive 9,000 sqm of extensions to the original refurbished structure, with an additional 3,100 sqm of external canopy structures. These additional works were coordinated and designed meticulously with the Coca-Cola Engineering and Logistics Divisions, to ensure the construction works resulted in a dynamic and fit for purpose facility to the satisfaction of the client.
The new location is highly advantageous to Coca-Cola, being closer to its clients’ distribution centres, with the purpose built facility further streamlining operations.
The flexible configuration of the facility allows Coca-Cola to bring numerous business units together into one single and secure location. The facility’s development was planned in a way that would resonate with other organisations in the precinct.
